How to know which path to choose

The question everyone, ever wants to know the answer to.

And here it is...

You don't.

Yup, there you go, there's my gem of advice. It sounds like a pretty crappy one right? But honestly, when I embraced that, things changed.
I am a perfectionist, and I give it a whole new meaning, I am brutal to myself if I don't meet my own standards and always doing the best thing, choosing the perfect words to say at the exact right time, singing every note perfectly with no pitchyness, never making a silly mistake in a relationship. Wouldn't we all love it if things just fell into place like that?
Well they don't and you can't mould and shape everything around you, and that's what makes it so fun to be human.
Four years ago, I would have laughed at you if you told me I was going to be in an incredible relationship that, 3 and a half years in was as strong as Jay-Z and Beyonce. I would have laughed even harder if you'd told me he would be away for 6 months at a time playing drums in random countries whilst I stayed in the UK. Yet here I am, sat in Bahrain, taking 10 days out of my crazy (Boss Bitch) work life back in London, to see my amazing drummer boy 3 months into his 6 month stint.
Yeah, I've made some bad choices, some very very bad choices, that landed me in hospital for long periods of time (A story I may or may never tell on here, we'll see) but no matter how bad things get, there is always a path to take to rectify it. I also believe that any bad path can be turned into a good one. You learn from everything.
Somethings may seem like the worst at the time, yeah maybe you did something really bad or someone did something really bad to you, but thats the beauty. Great things can come from tiny screw ups, there is always a next day and there is always a chance for something awesome to happen.

I feel like this is turning into a full on hippy, peace and love post, so I'm going to shut up now. The point, however, still stands.
Sometimes just shut your eyes and walk down a path. Who knows what will happen, who knows who you might meet...you just need to put yourself out there for these things to happen...

Much Love,

Sunday Summary 15/02

I have decided I am going to start doing weekly summaries (most weeks, some weeks they might just be too boring for your eyes), this way I can keep you updated in a more structured way, and those of you who know me know that I love a bit of structure in my life. Control freak, yes.

So this week has been a bit of a crazy one for me! If you spied my previous blog post, you will see that I rebranded EVERYTHING to run along side my career as a music artist. You will no longer find anything under my previous name of Little Hufff, but now under Chloë Rona, sorry if this confused anyone! Good news though, this means I will be so much more active on here and providing you with lots of my chitter chatter, videos, music and probably general nonsense that was fun at the time. So keep an eye, I really hope you all like where this exciting stuff will be going!!

I know it was just my first baby step, but this week has really shown me how much people step up when you need them to, and how much they really do care! Put your faith in people sometimes, it may not just be a front, they may actually be nice people!
I am terrible for that, I am far to cynical, I always think people are pretending to care and as soon as you're gone, they will forget, but the amount of support I have received this week from so many different people, people I haven't spoken to in years and people I don't even know, has just left me completely speechless.
So, if you are reading this, then you are one of those amazing people! You babe, you ;)

1, 2 3 & 4 || An incredible vegetarian/healthy restaurant just off Oxford Street, Ethos. Highly recomend!
5 || Lovely calm before the storm, full of goodness green smoothie bowl before my performance exam (hence the lyrics). With Organic Burst Maca & Wheatgrass. Honestly, I can't live without this company. So much love!
6 || Launch of all my online artist pages! Links at the side.
7 || New Uniform from the best company to work for! All Saints. Top || Nicole Piuma Top Jeans || Mast/Slashed Black Shoes || Aiden Jules Boots
8 || The building I live in somehow caught fire
9 || I managed to slam my finger in a fire door running out. Classic Chloë, make a bad situation even worse!
10 || Another cheeky photo from my Shoot ;)

Things I have learnt this week?
Easy.

1 || People will AMAZE you when given the chance
2 || When you believe in yourself, others believe in you as well
3 || Exams can be super fun! Especially when it is the 'Rock & Metal' term.
4 || I don't give my Parents enough credit at how amazing they are
5 || FIRE DOORS ARE HEAVY. DO NOT SHUT YOUR FINGER IN THEM.

Here is my cover of 'Blind Heart' by Cazzette again for you!

Happy New Year!!!!

So, New Year, new start and all that, who's got New Years resolutions? And who is actually going to stick to them?

I am actually not setting myself one this year, because I feel last year was such a successful year for me in so many ways. This time last year, I would never think in a million years that I would be where I am now, only a year on.
So this year, my only resolution is to carry on the way I have been.
I find with resolutions, because you put so much expectation around it, it actually becomes harder to stick to and as soon as January is over, it goes way out the window. If there is something you really want to stick to, whether it be a diet, a promise to try harder to be productive or even just treat yourself a littler nicer, don't call it a resolution, call it a life change or something you think you will stick to and make it fun! Don't make it the be all and end all, if you slip up, that's fine, you don't even need to tell anyone, just pick up where you left off. After all, we are human, and we are allowed to not do everything the way we planned, otherwise we would be boring and just robots! We are allowed to have fun ;)

Back to New Years Eve though, what did you all do? I would love to know, might give me some ideas for things to do in future years!
I went to Troxy in London, Dollop (click for link to their Facebook) were holding an event there. MK, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Wilfred Giroux and others were playing. Pretty safe to say it was an amazing way to start the year. Great friends, old and new, ridiculous music and talks of an even better year than the last!
Dollop puts on a few events around the country through out the year, check them out. Definitely worth it! It was set to be the best NYE night in London, so it had a fair amount of hype around it, but my God, did it deliver! The venue itself was crazy, Troxy is actually a theatre, but it lends itself well to these type of events, having a lower section which gets pretty packed and sweaty and a higher section that is enormous and you can chill out a bit back there. It even has a balcony section, as most theatres do, but you were allowed to sit up there and watch it all going off on the lower level, it was a bit mesmerising!

I can't apologise enough for the state of me in some of these photos, but welcome to our messy little world on NYE 2014:

Sorry for the terrible iPhone front camera quality photos!

Yeah. I think I rocked those glasses...

Half of the team.

Before I go, I promise you the last post is coming soon about my Albums of last year, I have had a bit of a crazy week. I am sorry!!

Much Love & New Year good wishes,

Nothing better than a cosy winter night in

As it is Christmas Eve (!!!) It's pretty safe to say, winter has been well and truly settled in for a while now, the need for big furry coats and woolly hats has been flirting with my annoyingly empty bank account.

I am personally, definitely not a winter person, I am a summer bunny. I put it down to that Maltese skin my mother dearest, so kindly, passed on to me. However, as much as I love a scorching Mediterranean beach day, there is something lovely and comforting about a cozy winter night in with the family or friends in front of the fire, with a lovely big, healthy mug of hot cacao and my puppy.

This is my standard pre sleep routine in the winter (Thanks for the book Lucia!)

My Pops and I take great pride in our Christmas trees!

Obviously my boy needs his very own Christmas jumper

Christmas is about appreciating new friends, as well as the old.

Although I am a summer girl, strangely, my fondest memories of being a little-un are the cosy Christmassy, winter nights playing board games with my family. The smell and sound of the fireplace crackling away, with our gorgeous old dog curled up in front of it.
I have a perfect routine when I am back home, I come in from my long day (of being highly productive, of course), then I whack on a nice chilled album or playlist, light a few candles, run the bath with some winter spice bubble bath (most likely The Magic Wand, Reusable bubble bar from lush) and stay there all nice and warm until mum serves up one of her famous healthy comfort dinners. Then comes the board games or a movie and the fire.

Welcome to the Santa's grotto that I call home

There are a few things that absolutely make winter for me, hopefully in my little list you will find a new thing to add to yours. Share yours with me as well, I'm always looking to spend money I shouldn't be spending!!

1. Big cozy coats for outdoor adventures, onesies for snuggling inside.
2. An enormous collection of winter accessories I.e. Earmuffs, beanies and gloves
3. Big mugs full of hot cacao
4. Christmas shopping in Covent Garden (it's a lot to handle, but worth it if you're in the right mood)
5. Huge thick knits
6. Christmas films, Elf never stops being funny and the grinch always melts my heart
7. The Christmas UK Music Chart
8. Snuggling up in the warmth with my boy, after spending the day in the freezing cold (Either my boyfriend, or my dog come under that category! Will, don't kill me for that one..)
9. Winter Edition Yankee Candles
10. Every single second of Christmas day, the food, the family, the good energy and the love you can feel running through everything.
Even though I prefer summer, Christmas has always been my favourite day of the year, it is just so magical and filled with happiness, family and LOTS of food. What more could you want?!

I am obssesed with pandas.
Wouldn't you just love this little Burberry car to deliver all your shopping home for you! Go see it in Covent Garden!

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve!!! Spend lots of time with family and friends, and hopefully you're all better than me and have done all your Christmas shopping! I will be madly rushing around in a few of hours as the shops are trying to close...
I wish you a magical, happy and fun Christmas!

We Scream Records. Definitely worth a listen!

It's always good to have something new enter the scene, especially if it has a lot of hype, excitement and therefore potential. Everything starts from the bottom and works it's way to the top (queue 'Drake -Started from the Bottom').
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love stumbling across a new artist, track or album and having something fresh to follow and fill that gap that is forever a little bit open.

What's better than an artist, track or album? A whole new label. All of it in one, and continuously releasing absolute bangers. By that incredibly descriptive choice of words, you will probably guess, it is an electronic label, predominantly House.

Let me introduce you to, We Scream Records.

Owned by Louis Robinson and Jono Green, right out of London, they bring you fresh Deep House and Tech House records from a variety of producers and artists from the UK and South Africa.

They are currently in the middle of a Christmas and New Year campaign, so it would be a great time to check out what they have to offer on their Soundcloud, as the downloads are currently free. How lovely and generous, eh? (Click the word 'Soundcloud' for the link).
I would definitely suggest to give 'Heart Strings' by Louis Robinson (Jono Green remix) and 'You got to Lose' a listen. Louis has just posted up a naughty little mix for you all as well, because he's nice like that!

Got your attention? Check out their website and youtube page (again, click on the words for the links), Louis is also a resident DJ on London's Dance Power Station, 'Electric'! Where We Scream Records will be doing weekly takeovers every Sunday 6-7pm up until the New Year, so tune in here!
I can't stress enough how hard it is for musicians to get started in the industry, every share, follower, listen is like another Christmas present!

I actually met Louis at the London club, XOYO, about a month or so ago and started chatting. You meet the best, most interesting people when you least expect it. Especially in this industry, networking and socialising is key. Although, I can't exactly say I was in the best state, he is a genuinely really nice guy and very talented, so obviously, when he told me about his new label and showed me what he does, I had to share it with all of you too! You're welcome!

As I was writing this post, Louis has just told me, he has posted his brand new mix on youtube. Don't you feel special, getting this literally as it is happening?! This is my little Christmas Present to you all, enjoy!

Your mind set is more powerful than you know!

I don't even know where to start with this week...

Firstly, I have had such a good week, it has been quite eye opening.
I am going to start by letting you into my little personal world a bit, by telling you what my best friend said to me a couple of weeks ago. With completely good intentions she said 'I love you, but you have so much bad energy around you recently, it's just not good for you or anyone else around you.' At first, as you can imagine, my reaction was something a long the lines of 'I am going to listen and pretend I care, then in five minutes I am going to not talk to you for a week because that was mean.' In all honesty, I am a horrible person, because that is exactly what I did, at first.
It took about a week before what she had said to me resurfaced in my mind again, when I was sat in bed on my own. She was right. I was letting everything get on top of me and weigh me down, sap the life out of me, I kept relying on excuses to not do things. I was not happy.
I am a singer, as fun as that sounds (and it is), it is also a labour of love, you have to push so hard with networking, songwriting, vocal techniques, into such a teeny tiny space of about a 2% chance of success. Cat, my best friend, is a singer as well, so she understands the commitment you have to put into it, which I hadn't been for such a long time. I had just been dampened by the fear of putting in my all and getting nothing back, which in itself was scaring me because it was even less likely I'd get anywhere. Approaching my last year at uni, that is not good.

What Cat said to me really made me think, yes it sounds very 'hippy', but surrounding yourself with good energy is so important.
Just that one committed moment, that I decided to change my mind set, changed everything in just one week. I prepared for my exams in a much more productive and involved way (anyone who has tried to sing jazz harmonies will feel my pain), I got half of my Christmas shopping done, I completed my to-do list that had things lingering on it for a while and I spent a day in the studio recording my first cover, which will hopefully be up soon. Above everything, I have been so happy this week, my relationships with Parents, friends and my boyfriend have all picked up and for the first time in a very long time, everything has felt promising and bright.

So what I am trying to say is, listen to and trust your close friends (if they are worthy of it!), and always try and take some 'you-time', your mind is an incredibly strong thing, you need to own it. So, get a cup of camomile tea and some candles, to think about where you are at the present moment and finely tweak the energy surrounding you. You will be surprised what a difference it makes.

I am now going to leave you with one of my favourite quotes to have a little think about, by the one and only Dr. Seuss:

Hello....... Again! :)

I started this blog over a year ago, it went strong for a little while but then I went through an odd patch of life (as everyone does at some point) and stopped posting, but here I am again, back with a vengeance after being prompted by a tutor in uni.
It isn't going to be the same thing, it is going to be much less focused on health, it will be a lifestyle blog instead. No, not another lifestyle blog like every girl in the world seems to be doing now. Well actually, I guess it is, but I like to think I will make mine more interesting to some people, and this is why...

Hi!
I look like a grumpy bitch in this, but i'm not, I promise!

I am a 22 year old girl living in West London,  studying Popular Music Performance Vocals and am currently in my final year of a degree (Scary stuff). We study a variety of music genres but I am leaning more toward the electronic and rock scene in my personal work, I know they are two very different genres, but I am indecisive and greedy ;)
My main interests are music (duuuh), fashion, health (any of you who followed my old blog will know I am a foodie) and going to as many new places as my TINY bank account will allow me. So there will still be a small focus on health, naturally as it is an important part of my every day life, but it won't be the main thing, because lets be honest... it's important and should be a subconscious way of life, but there are MUCH more fun things to talk about ;)
So let me tell you about the crazy London happenings (of which there are many), suggest new music for you to listen to, comment (be a bitch or fangirl) about music I have a strong opinion on and keep you up to date on all the fun things life in London has to offer.

So expect a very music-y, fashion-y, London-y and hopefully fun lifestyle blog.

Much Love,
